Terms of service

Last updated 3 October 2026

These terms cover your use of Gafat Clips, a service that turns long YouTube videos into short clips. By creating an account, you agree to them. They are written to be read; if something is unclear, ask us.

1.Your account

You need an account to make clips. Use an email address you can read, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else is using your account. You are responsible for what happens in it.

You can delete your account at any time from the settings in the app. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other people at risk.

2.What the service does

Gafat Clips takes a link to a public YouTube video, transcribes it, picks moments that work on their own, and makes vertical clips of them with captions, a hook and a score. You can download the clips.

The transcript, the choice of moments, the hooks, the framing and the scores are made by AI and can be wrong. Watch a clip before you post it.

3.Your videos and your rights

Only paste links to videos you made or have permission to use, including the right to cut them and post the clips. You keep every right you have in your videos and in the clips made from them; we claim no ownership of either.

To make your clips, you allow us to read the video and its audio, to send them to the services that process them for us (see the privacy policy), and to store the results for as long as these terms say. We use your videos for nothing else.

You are responsible for the clips you post and for following the rules of the platforms you post them on.

4.Fair use of the service

  • Do not use the service for videos that are illegal or that you have no right to use.
  • Do not try to get into other accounts, to overload the service, or to get around its limits or payments.
  • Do not resell access to the service or present its clips as a service of your own without our written agreement.

5.Minutes and payments

The service runs on prepaid minutes. One minute of source video uses one minute, rounded up, whatever the number of clips. Minutes are taken when you start a project; if no clips can be made from the video, they are returned to your account automatically.

You buy minutes in packs priced in Ethiopian birr and pay with Telebirr or a CBE transfer. A purchase counts once we have verified your receipt. A receipt can be used for one purchase only, and a payment for the wrong amount or to the wrong account is refused. When a receipt cannot be checked automatically, we review it by hand.

Minutes do not expire. There is no subscription and nothing is charged automatically. Prices can change for future purchases; minutes you have already bought keep their value. Bought minutes are not exchanged for money, except where the law requires it.

New accounts may receive free minutes when the email address is verified. Free minutes have no cash value.

6.How long clips are kept

Clips are kept for 30 days from when they are made and then deleted. Download the ones you want to keep. Deleting a project deletes its clips at once.

7.Availability and changes

We work to keep the service running and your clips safe, but we provide it as it is, without a promise that it will always be available or free of errors. We may change features, pause new projects for a while, or end the service; if we end it, we will tell you by email first.

8.Liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, such as lost income or lost followers, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim.

9.Ending your account

When you delete your account, your projects and clips are deleted, your sessions end, and any minutes left on the account are lost. We keep the records of your payments, because the law asks us to keep accounting records.

10.Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you by email or in the app before the change applies.

11.Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Ethiopia. For questions about them, write to us at the address our account emails come from.
